Bushbrown Butterfly

Mycalesis sp.

Description:

Brown with a mind-boggling array of eyespots and a transverse line cutting off the pattern from the rest of the wing which is plain.

Habitat:

Suntaley khola is a remote village in West Bengal, India with the River Moorti flowing by it. There is only one narrow motorable road that ends by the river. Lots of vegetation growing low. Many tall trees too. Very biodiverse. Spotted just outside the resort we stayed at.

Notes:

I get confused counting the eyespots and comparing the patterns...so am leaving it at Genus level.
