American Goldfinch

Carduelis tristis

Description:

Male, winter plumage.

Habitat:

mixed woods

Notes:

My kids found this bird laying on the ground. Presumably, it ran into the window. They brought it in to keep it away from the dogs. We put it into a birdcage for a couple hours. It perked up. We let it out, and it flew away
