Common Christmas Beetle (captured by Golden Silk Orb-weaver)

Anoplognathus porosus (or Anoplognathus pallidicollis)

Description:

I can't decide exactly which species of Christmas Beetle this is - A. porosus or A. pallidicollis. Both look very similar to me. Regardless, this one is history. Caught in the web of a female Golden Silk Orb-weaver (Nephila edulis).

Habitat:

In my backyard.

Notes:

This is the second beetle caught by this spider in less than a week. She's a hungry girl. PS: Every time I want to photograph a spider in a web it is windy, and this time was no exception. Managed a few decent hand-held shots though, and I'm happy with that.
