Zizula hylax pygmaea
Lycaenidae; Lycaeninae; Polyommatini; Zizula hylax pygmaea Snellen 1876. "(The Blues are) a cosmopolitan group of small, delicate butterflies, many of which exhibit iridescent or powdery blue dorsal wing surfaces, especially in males. The hindwings of Polyommatini tend to be evenly rounded." https://philippinelepidopt.wixsite.com/b...
The two Tiny Grass Blues were spotted in the rice mill backyard, a short distance from my house. This little patch of land is well shaded, from the tropical sunshine, by some Mango Trees and stands of Bamboo. There is a small stream which flows past one end. In the dry season it is no more than a trickle, but when the rains arrive, it becomes a raging torrent. There are house nearby, but nobody goes there. So the numerous species who inhabit this little wilderness enjoy the good life.
