Leptostales pannaria
It is a rather large species of (geometridae) with a wingspan of 15 mm. The moth has brown wings with lots of creme colored bands. The moth sits with it's wings spread like most geometrid moths.
Semi-urban Fort Worth, Texas. The first plant it was sitting on was a Star jasmine, then it landed on a Hackberry tree.
This species is quite common in this area and the surrounding areas in suburban Texas. They are also found through the south east. This species feeds on many low growing plants but seem to like Ragweed.
