Clark's nutcrackers

Nucifraga columbiana

Description:

Two grey-bodied birds, 6-10 inches long, with black wings and bills.

Habitat:

Pacific Northwest montane forest.

Notes:

Spotted flitting about in lakeshore trees near East Lake Campground in Newberry Crater National Volcanic Monument in central Oregon. Observed and imaged at a distance, so size/length is a guess.

Thanks, Forest Dragon. Glad to know you agree with my guess at the ID. I'll edit the spotting to reflect an ID of Clark's Nutcracker.
