Red Derbid Planthopper

Description:

Came across the oddest looking insect today. about 7mm long. Bright orange and yellow bands in the head and abdomen. Clear wings with red and black tooth shaped patterns in the upper borders of the wing. wingspan is about 3cm . Wings are permanently open (not tucked) with patterns flipped forwards. looks very much like a cicada?

Habitat:

lowland Malaysian jungle under a dead fallen tree trunk, near a stream.
