Carolina Wolf Spider, female

Hogna carolinensis

Description:

Carolina Wolf Spiders are the largest spider species in North America. This one looks to be full-grown, maybe 3" in diameter counting legs. I named her Shelob. I released her after showing her off.

Habitat:

Found by log pile in yard.

Notes:

Ain't she a beauty?
