False Turkey-tail

Description:

Warm brown fungus with whitish edges. This is actually a crust fungus, not a polypore. The underside is completely smooth without pores, unlike a true Turkey Tail and also lacks any blue coloration that Turkey Tails usually have.

Habitat:

Chopped and fallen logs in Newnans Lake Conservation Area
