Polyphylla occidentalis

Description:

Reddish brown with white stripes. Curved or fanlike antennae on male.

Habitat:

Mixed pine and hardwood forests. Also attracted to bright lights.

Notes:

Also called Striped June Beetle. They are the only consistently striped June beetle in eastern U.S. Male

Thanks Cindy and Maria! I thought they were very cool when fanned out. The first two pictures is of one male. The third pictures is of another male from the same night. He didn't want to hold still for me though!
