Description:

Stiffly upright, smooth, stout stemmed biennial to 3 ft. or more. The stem is solitary, hollow, branching in the upper portion. Yellow flowers in small clusters with 10 - 20 clusters on stalks of unequal length. Leaves are scalloped, lobed, or coarsely toothed at the margins.

Habitat:

Pastures, woodland openings and especially blackland prairies.

Notes:

Sometimes called wild dill, the foliage and seeds can be used in much the same way. Some well known cultivated members of the family are caraway, carrot, celery, chervil, parsley, ans rue. (Wildflowers of Texas)
