Great Horned Owl

Bubo virginianus

Notes:

This little baby was resting peacefully in a near by tree. He looks healthy, so I assume his nest and parents are nearby!

Yes, this is the little guy from yesterday! Lutz spotted him on top of the hawk flight cage this morning. He flew off when he saw both the Jons and crash landed into the hill! Jon says he's an awkward flier, but a flier!

Awwwww...great photos! I'm sure Mom was on guard somewhere! Was this at the farm??? The tree looks familiar! ;-) I didn't get a chance to go check them out! Are they still there?? I have to go up tomorrow, and maybe I'll see if I can find them!

He was so squishy! One of our staff saw him make a crash landing this morning into a hillside. Then he climbed up the side of the hill and fell a slepp on a post! So cute! Where is his Mother!?!
