Pallid Harrier

Circus macrourus

Description:

I think this one is male..." The pallid harrier male has very pale grey upperparts and is white below." ARKIVE.

Habitat:

Little Rann of Kutch. I spotted it from the open jeep but had hardly got around to setting the zoom when two other vehicles drew up and the bird flew away. Those guys had HUGE lenses but my aim and shoot camera had the photo....small consolation. :) Apparently this is one of the few places we can see a Harrier because it gets lots of ground-dwelling birds as prey.

Notes:

A lifer.
