Jeweled Flower Mantis Female

Creobroter gemmatus

Description:

Mottled light green on cream. A disk patterb on the outer wing casings.

Habitat:

Adjacent to a small stream. Altitude 1000m.

Notes:

This mantis sits in ambush on the flower heads of bushes. Very difficult to see, but once you know they are there, you can look for them. I went two years before I found my first. After that, they were easy.

Superb shots Dave! Funny how in nature spotting you find one and then see many. The first one tunes the eyes and mind.
