This is an example of why we emphasize scientific names on Project Noah. A scientific name is a unique name (even though taxonomy is always undergoing change). When we use it, everyone knows, or can find out, what species is being talked about.

Nicholas, While it may not be what we call a "Daddy Long Legs," in the part of the world where Kevin is from, that is the common, or house-hold name for the crane flies. You will find many similar common names used for many different species of animals, as you see different spottings uploaded from various parts of the world. It even happens with different parts of the USA. Here is a very good example of this.
