Actitis macularia
About three-quarters the size of the Killdeer that were nearby. Distinct yellow legs and yellow-orange bill, which is straight.
The area where I spotted this sandpiper was in a dry vacant lot where a building once stood. It had clearly been flooded with an earlier rain, but the ground was now dry. (This evening there was a down pour, and I'm certain the area is flooded again.)
