Xanthoconium separans

Description:

A bolete, I believe, Medium sized with a wide stem. Firm flesh. Purplish-red cap with a white, porous underside. Purplish stem. As these mushrooms age, the pore surface turns yellow. Edible.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Nolin Lake State Park, Kentucky.
