Giant African snail

Achatina fulica

Description:

The shell of the giant African snail is a reddish-brown colour, with pale yellow vertical markings, although colouration can vary depending on the surrounding environmental conditions. When fully grown, the shell of the giant African snail has seven to nine whorls, and is most often narrow and conical in shape.

Habitat:

It's native to the forest areas of East Africa but has been introduced into Asia, the Caribbean and a number of islands in both the Pacific and the Indian oceans. I found the sail next to the library entrance in the campus of Kalani high school.

Notes:

Lei-Per.7
