Spiny-shouldered Stink Bug

Cuspicona apothoracica

Description:

Blending very well with green, yellow and red tinged tea-tree plant this stink bug was about 13 mm. The wings were green as were the thorax and scutellum. The thorax was drawn out to spinous processes on either side and a broad transverse red band separated it from the scutellum. The scutellum had a bright yellow posterior tip which continued anteriorly as a short thick yellow line.

Habitat:

Spotted actively running around on a tea-tree in a reserve.
