it's from the family cerambycidae, i found one not to long ago in my backyard. they are known as pests, because the larvae eats wood and can make the tree sick and eventually die and fall, and the big problem is you normally don't know the larvae is there until it's too late. after i saw the bug, i went and checked the almond tree in my garden (since the one i found specializes in almond trees) and i saw it's eaten in many places. so if you found it in your backyard, you can try to find which species it was with this website: http://bugguide.net/node/view/171, since i don't know the size of it and back coloration i won't be able to help more.

Here's a link on Arthropods for you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthropod You'll see that most of the "bugs" you find will fall in this category as well as other segmented organisms.

Hi Jenny, I moved this to the Arthropod category for you. It appears the first image didn't load correctly. Try deleting that image and re-uploading.
