White-throated Fantail

Rhipidura albicollis

Description:

Dark coloured...almost black. It has a dark fan-shaped tail, edged in white. White line above eyes and at throat.

Habitat:

Neora Valley Jungle Camp. About 3 hours drive from the coordinates shown. Remote hilly forested area. Himalayan foothills. The low walls of the camp just about prevent one from tumbling down the hillside; the valley is full of tall trees which these birds like to use as their display/singing platforms. There is no way to get close. It strained my camera's zoom to the max. Then I cropped the photos a bit.

Notes:

Pleasant song.
