Centaurea montana

Description:

A member of the knapweed family, it blossoms with distinct flower heads on a single stalk. Common weed in sunny gardens. Inedible but once used for medicinal purposes. Blooms May to August.

Habitat:

Sunny areas, drought tolerant and does not like wet environments

Notes:

Found in my friends' backyard while having a BBQ - testing out the mobile app again!
