Calotes versicolor
The changeable lizard has the ability to alter its color to match the background in order to hide in plain sight, they can grow up to 40+ cm in Sri Lanka which is slightly larger than the rest of this species area-range. They can move each eye independently like a chameleon and are related to iguanas. During mating-season, the males head and sholders turn red and its troath black. This specimen is a young adult measuring about 25 cm with the tail.
Urban settlement, close to small pathces of jungle.
