Theridiid Spider

Description:

A small black spider with a bright red abdomen. This one has a beautiful pattern of spots on the top of the abdomen in a lighter red. About 4mm in body length. In the last picture, a black genital plate is visible. Family Theridiidae.

Habitat:

Semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
