They are found along the coast of north east New South Wales and south east Queensland as far north as Yeppoon. They are generally only found in subtropical rainforest or adjacent wet sclerophyll forest but there have been unconfirmed sightings in urban areas.
This specimen was found (already dead) on the ground in Eades Reserve (temperate forest/woodland), Katoomba, Blue Mountains, NSW. Australia January 5th 2015.
