Ashy-crowned Sparrow-lark (female)

Eremopterix griseus

Description:

Looks just like a sparrow, but the male is somewhat different. Flies in a flock.

Habitat:

The ruins of Lothal: the Mound of the Dead in Gujarat. Dry bare ground mostly with tufts of grass and some trees.

Notes:

The civilization that build this place is dated to 2400 BCE. The humans are gone but the birds remain. A lifer for me. Male: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/117...
