Yellow gentian

Gentiana lutea

Description:

Yellow gentian belongs to family Gentianaceae. Grows up to 2 m in height, has lanceolate to eliptical leaves 30 cm in lenght and about 12 cm in wide. Flowers are yellow and aranged in clusters. Can be found in alpine and subalpine area. Radix Gentianae and tinctura Gentianae are used in medicine, now this plant is very rare and it's protected by the Law in Croatia.
