Themeda australis
A native Australian warm season perrenial grass growing up to 1.2m high. Flowers in Spring through to Autumn. Leaf bases are held in sheaths (often quite hairy) and grow from a base in a clump at ground level, seedheads are 10 to 25cm long, spikelets have long black awns, dry seedheads remain on the plant into the following season unless eaten or burnt, plants regrow new leaves seasonally and particularly after rain.
Found throughout much of Australia.
