Yellow-Blotched Map Turtle

Graptemys flavimaculata

Description:

Another turtle that isn't doing too hot. The yellow-botched map turtle is listed as Vulnerable due to slow reproductive rate, high nest mortality due to egg predation and flooding, human encroachment, and turtle plinking, the sick practice of using turtles as target practice. As always the Turtle Conservancy is a charity that supports endangered turtles.

Habitat:

Its distribution is limited to the Pascagoula River of Mississippi.
