Trichilia

Family Meliaceae, Trichilia sp.

Description:

A medium size bush, with thin stems that spread horizontally and vertically. The seed pod's surface looks like velvet, starts with a greenish red color, and contains one seed only. When mature, it turns brown. The seed is red, with a black cover layer that splits from the seed when this falls on the ground. Photo 3 is of a new seed pod, and photo 4 is of the bush.

Family / Família Meliaceae, Trichilia sp. Plants of the genus Trichilia have several medicinal properties. One of them, T. catuaba is said to have aphrodisiac and stimulant properties... But this one is almost certainly T Hirta!

Oneng, it is a fruit, the flower is small and white, but there was none in the bush anymore.

Gerardo, gracias. Tibiprada: I didn't try, but I am very suspicious of red fruits that I don't know (and this is RED, as you can see...).
