Lophocampa mixta

Lophocampa mixta

Description:

These caterpillars were everywhere on our hike. They are heavily fuzzy, have a yellow to green tinge on the body, and four distinct black spines near the head and rear. Compare with a more fuzzier version, perhaps so due to age? http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/763...

Notes:

Very common to see them making their way down from a tree via silk web -- an amazing spectacle!
