Tiny, dark green resinous leaves. Five-petaled yellow flowers, with white puffs when seeds are ripe.

Mojave Desert

Notes:

Also shown is a gall caused by the Creosote Gall Midge. This is a drought-deciduous evergreen. The distinct smell of the crushed leaves give this tree its name.
