Description:

Adult male is quite unmistakable with a bright green head that appears blue in certain light. Female is mottled light brown.

Habitat:

Distributed across the northern hemisphere. Wide range of habitat and climates, from arctic tundra to subtropical regions. Found in both fresh water and salt water wetlands, including parks, small ponds, rivers, lakes an estuaries, as well as shallow inlets.

Notes:

These came into the yard on a wander around the neighborhood.
