Cuphophyllus Waxy Cap

Cuphophyllus sp.

Description:

Small white mushrooms – approximately 2cm tall. The caps had a slight yellow tint.

Habitat:

Growing on the ground in an area with lots of rocks, moss, decaying wood, and deciduous trees.

Notes:

Cuphophyllus is considered by some to be synonymous with Hygrocybe. However, recent molecular evidence confirms that it is a distinct genus.
