Medium size blue skimmer (31-35 mm) seen in the early spring in the southeastern United States. Mature males are steel blue in color. They often perch on vertical surfaces with their abdomen depressed to collect heat.
There were a half dozen blue corporal males clinging to the west facing bricks of my home on a balmy late March afternoon.
