Codium isthmocladum
Photo take at -40 ft on the sandy bottom this algae is not to common in the area small bush like green color. Codium is a genus of seaweed in the Chlorophyta of the Order Bryopsidales. There are about 50 species worldwide. In the constant struggle for living space in the intertidal and upper subtidal zones, this alga also plays host to others: a small red alga specializes in living on clumps of dead man's fingers.
Found on sandy bottoms, rocky areas and coral reef found from Florida all the Caribbean sea, Central America, to Brazil.
