The anise swallowtail caterpillar in my garden has begun to pupate! It selected a new location from yesterday and started laying down a layer of silk on a fennel stalk. You can see the silk sling encircling the body near the top and the silk support on the bottom. I am not sure if I will be able to see the pupa forming and will have to wait until the morning.
