Thanks for the link Tiffany! The website had some good general info on swans and the collars. I kind of figured it was for research but at the same time I thought it looked a bit like a weight loss device so I had to ask.

Tag is for a research program thats being run in Australia. The public log sightings on the projects website so the researchers can track movements etc, the site is myswan.org
