Spotted on the Foothills trail in Gorges State Park, NC.
Erin is right - this isn't a coral mushroom - it's a jelly fungus that just resembles a coral - it's tougher, though, and the branches are often flatter rather than rounded, and its base (inside) is gelatinized.
