Ruby Throated Humming Bird

Archilochus Colubris

Description:

Iridescent ruby throat looking black in most lights. White chest contrasts with dark throat, green sides; tail all black, forked. Female green above, whiteish below with white tips on outer tail feathers.

Habitat:

Forest edges, parks, gardens. Most winter in tropics.

Notes:

This was taken at Buffalo Point in south eastern Manitoba. There are a good number of them there, and come to the feeder all the time.
