Pobblebonk

Limnodynastes dumerilii

Description:

Large frog approx. 8cm found in the garden during a warm wet night. Apparently they can be found several kilometres from water and get their name from their distinctive 'bonk' call.

They do get surprisingly large.
Do you know where the other half of their name comes from? :-)

Lucky ! We've tried to see these guys at a nearby marsh/drain system but have had no luck. They have a great call.

Very nice portrait and one of the cuter common names for a frog that I have heard
