Thymus zygis

Description:

Thymus zygis is a small cushion-like shrub, 10-20 cm high and very aromatic. The twigs are straight and woody. Leaves are narrow and linear, 5-7 mm long and 1 mm wide, green-greyish colored and with whitish hairy underside and with a nerve in the middle. Flowers are in spikes, with the upper lip three-lobed, of white colour. it is one of the most common thymes in Iberian peninsula, able to grow in very different ecological niches. usually in open places.
