Water Spider

Dolomedes sp.

Description:

This Dolomedes water spider is brown with a white border round the cephalothorax. It looks a bit like a wolf spider but does not have a large pair of eyes in centre like wolf spiders. It can run on the surface of the water.

Habitat:

Under a small log in bushland, very close to the river.

Notes:

I can confirm a water spider based on this link Water Spider ( Dolomedes sp I suspect it is a a water spider; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Water_... They seem to be water droplets on its body.
