Description:

Some sort of animal burrow? Could be a mouse, garter snake, or chipmunk. Not sure which one.

Habitat:

Wooded area near a pond.

The category "other" is for organisms (and/otr their signs) which don't fall into the existing categories. For example, starfish, snails, worms and many others. It is not for unknown. I would suggest that you put this into mammals. Cheers

Do you think its a chipmunk or mouse burrow?

Mammals are pretty much the creatures that make burrows (other than a few tortoises, but not in NY). Other animals will occupy an old mammal burrow but many do not create them.
