A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Anas platyrhynchos
Mallard ducks are very widespread and one of the most recognizable species. The males have a characteristic green head while the females are mottled brown.
Mallard ducks live in ponds: these two ducks were spotted at the duck pond near Budewig Intermediate School.
There were several females at the pond but only one male.
