Mexican Jay

Aphelocoma wollweberi

Description:

While hiking in the Chisos Mountains, a flock of Mexican Jays flew past me. They were screaming at each other and completely ignoring me. One jay had an alligator lizard and the other jays were trying to steal it. While they were distracted with getting a quick meal, I was able to get a few good shots.

Habitat:

Pine and juniper forest
