Stick Insect, Phasmid - Nymph

Description:

Nymph of Phasmid, around 4 cm in body length, possibly from the genus, Phasmotaenia, which is known to feeds on pine. Although Phasmids are often referred to as Stick Insects or Walking Sticks, there are times that they do not camouflage or mimic to sticks and branches but rather to leafs and in this instance, pine needles. Pic#1 shows how well they blends into the pine needles.

Habitat:

Tropical forest, on pine trees or its surrounding as they are known to feed on pine needles.
