This mushrooms has true gills and on the last photo you can see rusty spore deposit on the stipe. This is a Gymnopilus species, close to G. penetrans. As the name you've suggested says ('smooth' chanterelle), the hymenium (fertile spore producing layer) should be smooth or slightly wrinkled.
