Hi Jesse. Project Noah is a cool place to add pictures and get feedback from other spotters. But it is also a world-wide, crowd-sourced set of data that can be of enormous value to researchers. The only way the data is of value is if the information each spotter puts in is accurate and complete. So it's not a "rule," (i.e. your spottings won't be deleted if you don't add the scientific name for example), nor is it just my suggestion. You can read the FAQ and these three excellent blogs on more about why complete and accurate data is so important here: http://blog.projectnoah.org/post/2870249...

Ava,is this a rule or your suggestion.Scientists need the scientific name? Thanks for your concern on the matter.

Since you know what this bird is (and this is true for other of your spottings), can you please add the scientific name and add a reference for each of your identified spottings? Project Noah only works as a research tool for scientists if the data is present and accurate.
