Insect

Description:

I thought it was a Hover fly. I looked again and thought it was a wasp...or a bee...or a hornet...meaning I am confused and lost. It is dark and has a dark-blue iridescence to the wings much like a very large and bumbling carpenter bee I see at home

Habitat:

Dianthus annual winter bed in my office garden . Absolutely heart of the city urban area.
